Are You an Uplifter?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could look at every situation in our life and the world around us—no matter how huge the problem appeared to be or how seemingly impossible the solution—with complete trust that nothing is impossible to us or for us; that everything that happens will have a perfect outcome, even though we can’t see how. If we lived with such trust in Life, we would be able to keep our mind focused on that Realm of Infinite Possibilities that allows the seemingly impossible to become possible to us and thru us.

It is our willingness to quiet our mind, no matter what may be going on around us, and to let our self feel the unshakable Joy of our Inner Being that gives us access to Peace and Power of Life that is here, there, and everywhere because It is alive in everything, including our self. That Joy would arise naturally into our awareness, and we would rise naturally into Its Realm of unlimited possibilities, and easily create all the abundant good we desire, all that is beautiful and satisfying in life, if we didn’t suppress It with our emotional conditions for feeling it and our mental reasoning for not expressing It.

Do You Squeak?

When was the last time you tilted your head back and laughed at the sky? When was the last time you felt light and carefree? Babies get the Cosmic joke. Everything makes them laugh! But somewhere along the road to adulthood we learned that this life isn’t a laughing matter. How many times as we were growing up did we giggle at something only to be told by a parent, teacher, or some other authority, “That’s not funny” (even though it sure seemed funny to us!). We learned to take everything in school seriously—classwork, homework, even sports was a serious matter. Of course, we were rewarded for our seriousness with good grades, trophies, and the approval of others.

For many us laughter, rather than being spontaneous, became a matter of judgement and other people’s opinions. It seemed far less risky to be taken too seriously than be considered foolish for not understanding seriousness of problem. Fear causes us to take life seriously; to worry that if we don’t try to control our self, other people, and the situations and events around us we might not get what we want to make us happy. Or worse, we might get exactly what we think we want, but if we don’t pay serious attention to keeping it safe—whether it’s a person, position or possession—we might lose it. Keep your eyes on the prize, your nose to the grindstone, and put a little elbow grease into whatever you do. That’s how you succeed in life! (Read more…)

Giggling With God

After living in California for 34 years, Rev. Kim Yalda recently moved back to her hometown of Flushing to live with and care for her 95-year young mother. We are blessed at The Life Enrichment Center that this beautiful, deeply spiritual Science of Mind Minister chose to become a member of our Spiritual Family. On Sunday, July 15th, she spoke at the Sunday Service, not as a “guest speaker,” but as a family member. Below is her bio.

The Facelift of Joy

Just as there is nothing we need to do to make our self exist because we already “are,” there is nothing we need to do to make Joy exist in our life. It already does. Joy is happening everywhere, all the time, because Joy is the creative energy of Life, Itself. We are all a part of the Joy of Life. It already lives in us because Joy is the Nature of the Universe in which we live. We could say that the Joy of Life began in the beginning when God saw all that He had created was very, very good, and then said. “This is so good it calls for celebration!” And from that moment on the Universe has been celebrating the existence of Creation.

Every living thing was created out of God’s Pleasure, and every living thing is able to feel Joy—even the flowers dance in the breeze. Even though we may not feel like dancing at the moment, or believe that our life is worth celebrating at all, there is a party going on in our soul that is celebrating us, just the same. We can choose to join It, or we can choose to be a party pooper. But, either way, the celebration of Life isn’t affected. Joy is ongoing because It is the Infinite, Eternal Nature of the Living Universe. As long as there is Creation, there is Celebration! (Read more…)

Explosion of the Heart

All we need to do is to look at animals to see that Joy is a natural quality of life. Animals are instinctively joyous. They play, jump, leap, dance, and some even smile. Animals appear as if they don’t have care in the world, and that is because they don’t. They innately trust that Life is for them and will provide all they need. It is through the conscious choice we make to respond to life situations with the Joy of Being (no matter what may be occurring) that we demonstrate that we, too, trust that Life is for us and will provide all we need.
