Listening to Rev. Stephanie's messages always raises my vibration whether it is in person or via her recorded messages on the LEC website. I am so grateful for the Life Enrichment Center and for the beautiful people who congregate there.
Her message last week was spot on and resonated with me. I am so blessed to call the Life Enrichment Center "my church". Thank you to everyone who makes this church and my experience there so beautiful!
The Life Enrichment Center (LEC) is a church based on New Thought philosophies and practices. New Thought is all-denominational having aspects of all positive religions that recognize the spiritual nature of all people. Holy and philosophical books are referenced without presenting negative or dark aspects. Metaphysical and self-help books are available in the church bookstore for individual study. I Am statements and songs are important to the new thoughts emanating from LEC that acknowledge the individual spirits and their connection to all other spirits. Music, prayers, and fellowship are shared; with seminars provided to study in-depth teachings. A meditation room is provided for contemplation and spiritual communing. Healing prayers help restore physical and spiritual wholeness. The Peace Garden welcomes all people to share the beauty of our planet and its creatures.
LEC is a House of God, uses the teachings of Jesus, and is filled with The Holy Spirit. Old thoughts from centuries of religious and philosophical knowledge provide a foundation to grow from. New Thought reveals that we are all connected as a part of God and Love. Accepting the goodness within, nurturing it, and creating wonderful things are derived from thinking in new ways with an open mind. Enlightenment is finding that The Light is already within you, turn it on and let it shine.
All people are welcomed at LEC as family. The LEC community welcomes everyone with greetings, smiles, and hugs. A Circle of Love, with all in attendance joining hands, fills the sanctuary at the end of each service with a simple song of Peace. Many people work together in harmony at LEC. Reverend Stephanie Sorensen brings great inspiration to our community presenting wisdom and teachings in an uplifting manner. She has been here over five years providing hope and counseling; we are glad she calls Michigan her home. Marcia Allen sings a variety of thoughtful and uplifting songs with an excellent band. Jamie Phillips and others record the Sunday talks to be shared on the Internet. Come to LEC if you want to be with loving, caring, and sharing people. Celebrate the inter-connections of our lives, spirits, and all living things at The Life Enrichment Center.
I have spent my life searching for something that I had no idea what it was, what it looked like, what it sounded like, what it smelled like. I was chasing after a desire with no face and I didn't know if it was up ahead or if I had somehow left it far behind.
It was just over fifteen years ago, my wife was pregnant with our first child but let me tell you I was the one going through all the changes. I was driving myself and probably many others crazy trying to think of everything at once, trying to be everything at once. I was going to be responsible for a living Being and was determined to get everything right. One of the things on my check list was some sort of spiritual foundation. I was raised Methodist but felt that I could skip traditional Christianity for something more???? again I didn't know what. My brother Stephen had always been a mentor and an inspiration to me and invited me to his "church" called the Life Enrichment Center. He assured me that these good people would have an open mind to my agnostic/neo-pagan/ Buddhism/ tree hugging ways and they where. I was accepted with warm friendly smiles and hugs and not one raised eyebrow.
Since those days the L.E.C. has seen me through the "best of times and the worst of times" (sorry Chuck it's a good line). We had a second child in 2002 and happy days and occasions numbering in the hundreds. The L.E.C. was there when life had taken darker roads as well. between 2005 and 2006 came bankruptcy, divorce and foreclosure. Under the strain I became an emotional wreck. My L.E.C. family was there (sometimes miraculously) holding my hand and reminding me that I was not alone. I learned then what true forgiveness was a practical tool to heal and grow and that to forgive and be forgiven wasn't just lip service but a gift to be thankful for. I would tell people not that the L.E.C. healed me or gave me my life back but rather held me and loved me until I could feel love and wholeness in my life again.
Recently in 2013 I became ill with a very rare condition called Relapsing Poly Chondritis of my airways. I spent some time in and out of Genesys
Hospital and then a bit of a stay in Ann Arbor's U of M Hospital where I was diagnosed. Like I said the condition is rare and because it is in my airways the prognosis (was) grim. Now I wont tell anyone that I have not dis-pared or that my faith is unfaltering or that I am not afraid of dieing because I am all of these things at times. I will tell you however that thanks to my friend and brother of another mother David Clement I overcame my disparage and focused on taking care of practical matters. Thanks to Rev. Stephanie constant reassurances that my love for my children was reflected in divine love and that we are all one and can never be separated I can at times overcome my fears. Finally thanks to all your prays from my L.E.C. family and many others I have at times a little faith for which I now understand can move a mountain. The Life Enrichment Center has been for me "My Saving Grace"
The Life Enrichment Center is a place to go to feel warmth, love and acceptance. I live out of town and every time I am in town its as if I never left. Rev. Stephanie's lessons or so deeply touching and loving allowing us all to feel accepted and embraced. I recommend this church and these studies to anyone who is seeking a path of their own truth and their own journey is this lifetime.
LEC..... a collection of souls who, at sometime in their lives, have looked around their world and had the thought, "there must be a better way." That way was found springing forth from a community of joyously committed beings following the teachings of "Science of Mind" & "A Course In Miracles"-- inspired moment by moment from the life changing talks, healing counsel, and inspirational teachings of Rev. Stephanie Sorensen, as well as the broad spectrum of spiritually uplifting music presented on Sundays, by Marcia Allen (music director, vocalist), and her mix of professional musicians. The combination of all of the aforementioned is that elusive formula for Heaven on Earth, at the corner of Dye and Lennon roads.
I am deeply grateful for The Life Enrichment Center , a spiritual community that does not preach religious dogma but encourages me to seek my own truth. It is a safe place for me to be myself, a place where my soul finds nourishment and my spirit finds joy. Rev. Stephanie's talks are filled with uplifting, throught provoking and comforting messages.
I appreciate you LEC !
I want to express how much LEC and Rev. Stephanie has helped me in my spiritual search, but it is so large in scope, that I feel limited with what words can describe. I feel so fortunate to be able to receive and learn from the gifts that are consistently available and given at LEC.
Just want to thank the High Watch Practitioners at LEC. And let you know, my Aunt Marion is out of the hospital. In a rehab to get her strength back. Thank you God, and thank you LEC. There is power in prayer.
Are you a seeker (like me) with that need, that scratch that must be itched for the truth in this world we find ourselves in? If so I invite you to do as I have done and stop along your journey of discovery and experience the Life Enrichment Center of Flint.
Here you will find (as I have) a safe environment to be in, good energy to explore in and inspiring messages from Reverend Stephanie that will help glue together some of the loose ends while avoiding the “traditional” Gordian Knot.
Avenues are here for deeper exploration in theology and self discovery as well as wonderful fellow seekers to learn with and from. When LEC of Flint says ALL are welcome; believe you me it is so.
A pew is here waiting for you.
With love,
Michael
When I walked into The Life Enrichment Center over 12 years ago, I felt like I finally found a home and over time LEC has become my extended family.
Realizing each of us is on our own spiritual path, LEC provides me a safe, loving, supportive and positive environment that allows me the space to practice the principles of New Thought.
I've received many gifts at LEC and I am so grateful for this Special Space!
